Duendecitos

Duendecitos is an original artwork realized by Francisco Goya and published for the first time in 1799.

Original etching on woven paper.

The plate belongs to the Third Edition published in 1868 and made by the Calcografia Nacional for the Real Academia. Etching number 49. Titled on the lower central margin " Duendecitos " (The Small Spirits).

The plate is in very good conditions, showing a very fresh impression. On the left, there are punctures indicating the presence of an original seam.

The artwork represents human figures with monstruous faces. The artist realized all the plates of Los Caprichos  to show artlessly the disagreements of the corrupted society of the 18th-century Spanish court.
