The artwork represents human figures with monstruous faces. The artist realized all the plates of Los Caprichos  to show artlessly the disagreements of the corrupted society of the 18th-century Spanish court.

" Witches, sabbath, devilry, roasted children on a spit, what can I say? All the debaucheries of the dreams, all the hyperbole of the hallucination, and then all those Spanish white and slender that certain old perpetual women wash and prepare for the sabbath, or for the prostitution of the evening, the sabbath of our civilization! " - Charles Baudelaire
