Duke Guggenheim - Il duca Guggenheim

SOCIAL RESEARCH
This work is part of the SOCIAL "research" which addresses issues that concern people and the "polis" which in Latin means city but also "political model".

DUKE GUGGENHEIM
The patron had a very important role in the history of art because in ancient times he surrounded himself with artists of various expressions (images, sounds, words etc.). In the modern era, the patron has transformed into a collector who, by purchasing the works of artists of interest to him, has helped their growth and knowledge. The famous portrait of the Duke of Mntefeltro, painted around 1465 by Piero della Francesca and commissioned by him, in my version has the image of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao (Spain) instead of the hat. Both the Duke and Peggy Guggenheim are both patrons even if in very distant centuries!
