The technique used was defined as PHOTO-PAINTING by the art critic Silvia Pegoraro of Ravenna Italy and was my invention in 1994. In fact, after 30 years of working with photography and painting which had never been united, I returned to Naples, the city where I was born and from which I had been missing for 10 years after moving to Rome in 1984 when I fled with 3 small children due to the earthquake of 1980. I returned to see the MIRACLE of the G7 with the heads of state of the most industrialized countries in the world with headed by Bill Clinton, US president. It was an exciting visit to the reborn city and I took over 5,000 photos with my Nikon with a simple 50mm lens with which I was forced to take photos of squares and monuments in pieces. When I returned to Rome I had all the photos printed and spread out on various tables and I assembled all the various pieces. The first was the MASCHIO ANGIOINO, but I immediately realized that parts were missing which I completed with painting, a spontaneous gesture with which I was unconsciously realizing a great innovation: I combined the reality of photography with the dream of painting. PHOTO-PAINTING was born that Silvia, my muse, illustrated to me when I showed her the IMPERANT MALE and explained to myself what I had done: I had united TWO WORLDS of my life, that of the REALITY that had been imposed on me by my parents with the education, training (degree in Economic Sciences) and work started at 15 years old in our family's copper industry. Challenging years that had distanced those of my childhood when I studied the piano and dreamed of becoming an orchestra conductor and I drew and painted my flights of imagination in search of the world of affection that I missed with my parents busy in the factory reconstructing the lines electricity and railways destroyed by the recently ended war. I then refined the PHOTO-PAINTING which developed into DIGITAL PROCESSING having replaced the BRUSH with the MOUSE to fill the gaps left by the photography and complete the REALITY which thus became ANOTHER...
