This artwork represents the head of Erinye through confident and deft strokes in black ink with serious looks and long hair, the  Erinyes are  goddesses of vengeance and retribution who punished men for crimes against the natural order. They were particularly concerned with homicide.  Adolf Hallman  (1893 – 1968) was a Swedish illustrator who sensibly contributed to Swedish, Danish and Norwegian newspapers and magazines, including Tidens Tegn, Dagbladet, Exlex and Politiken.
