This black and white xylograph represents Diana , goddess of hunting, lying asleep on a rock covered with moss green. Two goat divinities face each other, longing to contemplate the white and sensual body of the young hunter who appears languid and unaware, like a biblical Susanna. The two grotesque fauns, which sprout against a stormy sky, contrast the delicacy of the white girl.
