Giolitti  is a very interesting portrait of tha famous Italian politician. T he work is a representation of the portrait of Giolitti as the kaiser. His face is very grim and sad at the same time. The strokes are strong and define the whole portrait in a very smart and excellent way.

This work has been realized by the Italian artist Gabriele Galantara   (Montelupone, 1865 - Rome, 1937). Galantara has been a journalist  and one of the greatest Italian caricaturists and satirical designers.  In Rome he came into contact with various socialist, republican and anarchist groups, he had the opportunity to implement the project of an own newspaper.  He  titled it "The Donkey", with reference to the motto of Francesco Domenico Guerrazzi.
