LIPPY LIPSHITZ (Russia, 1903 – Israel, 1980) Along with, M. Kottler and Anton van Wouw, Lipshitz is well known as one of the most famous South African sculptors , although his Lithuanian origins.

Nostalgic Postcard with euphoric tones, by Lippy Lipshitz to his long-life friend who introduced him to the circle of Jewish artist s within the Ecole de Paris with Soutine, Modigliani, Pascin, Kisling. In Paris, thanks to Nesto, Lippy was initiated in the Modern Movement. Here he came into contact with Cubism, Futurism, Expressionism, Dadaism, Surrealism and Constructivism. With this postcard the artist advides Nesto he is in Paris where he could meet again youth friends in Montparnasse, amoung the Cafè de la Rotonde , the Cafè du D ô me and the ’ Académie de la Grande Chaumière where he studied under Antoine Bourdelle , onetime assistant to Rodin .
