Autograph Letter
Autograph letter signed by Gino Severini to Veno Pilon. Nice, Avril 7th 1958 . One double-sided page, in Italian. With some notes in pencil. Excellent conditions, except for some usual folds of paper, some little rips on the left margin, a little stain on the central lower margin, and two ring-holes on the right margin.
Gino Severini is an Italian painter who knows how to fuse science, art, composition and fantasy: most of all the Futurist dynamic values with the Cubist constructive concepts.

Letter of congratulations for realizing some superb specimens of his lithographs, with a brief work in progress report and his and his wife's detailed states of health.
Gino Severini (Cortona, 1883 – Paris, 1966), Gino Severini is an Italian painter who knows how to fuse science, art, composition and fantasy: most of all the Futurist dynamic values with the Cubist constructive concepts. It is hard to insert Gino Severini in one single artistic movement - although he is best-known as a Futurist artist, he is also considered a Pointillist, Cubist, Neoclassicist of “ Valori Plastici ” . After a religious crisis (between 1924-34), he abandons easel painting to focus on religious art: it is the time of big frescoes and mosaics especially for Swiss churches. In 1946, he moves to Meudon, and his style becomes semi-abstract.
The time of this letter was a period full of satisfaction and of life-long appreciation: he showed his work at major exhibitions, including the Rome Quadrennial and won art prizes from major institutions.
