Antonio Donghi (Rome, March 16, 1897 - Rome, July 16, 1963) was an Italian painter, one of the main exponents of magical realism. From 1938 he taught at the Istituto di Belle Arti in Rome, where he had studied. His interiors with figures have always

remained faithful to a neo-objectivity of an intimate nature that stands halfway between the metaphysical and neoclassical vision, typical of plastic values, and a cultured primitivism full of irony (Woman at the café, 1931, Venice, Museum of Modern Art-Ca'
