Autograph Letter by Paul Sabatier
Autograph letter signed in French, dated 10 Janvier 1899 by the French clergyman Paul Sabatier (Saint-Michel-de-Chabrillanoux, 1858 - Strasbourg, 1928), author of the first modern biography on St. Francis of Assisi and nominated five times for the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Sabatier addresses a gentleman, concerning a St. Francis parchment: “…Je compte aller à Rome vers la fin de l’hiver et pouvoir étudier alors ce précieux parchemin. Mais pour que je puisse dès maintenant me faire une idée … de son contenu et de ses variantes je désirais en avoir une copie…”.
