This interesting artwork shows a woman tied in a torture room. The title refers to the famous historical figure of Tomas de Torquemada was the first inquisitor of the Spanish Inquisition during the era of the Catholic Monarchs. Isabella's confessor of Castile and Ferdinand of Aragon, he instituted very harsh trials against the conversos, that is to say the Jews who converted to Christianity not for their will, but also for the Muslims and women accused of witchcraft, very often inflicting severe torture.During the period of Tomàs de Torquemada the trials were almost 20 thousand and the executions around 2000

Louis Touchagues (1893 - 1974) Arriving in Paris in 1923, Touchagues trace the point of his pencil or brush her, half a century of Parisian life. Designer - Illustrator: drawings for fabrics and silks are noticed by Paul Poiret. He collaborates with various illustrated papers (The Living Art, New literary ...) and satirical (Crapouillot, Le Charivari ...).  Parliamentary draftsman, he is delegated by the Fine Arts as a draftsman at the first Peace Conference as well as the arrival of General de Gaulle in Paris. He illustrated many books of Colette, S. Guitry, Mr. Achard, Mr. Ayme, G. Duhamel ... His three albums: Women and models, Parisian and Waves in St Tropez reflect his favorite subject: women.
