Profile of a Tiger   is beautiful original charcoal drawing on ivory-colored paper, realized by the German artist Wilhelm Lorenz , also called  Willi Lorenz . Signed  twice in pencil on the lower right and left margins.

This wonderful study for a profile of a tiger, a really superb close-up of the feline, is drawn with incredible realism, paying much attention to the texture of the animal's fur.

This modern artwork is in very good conditions, except for a little fold on the lower right corner, some sporadic brown pencil stains, and a visible central stain.

Wilhelm (Willi) Lorenz  (Germany, 1901–1981)

Wilhelm Lorenz, also known as Willi Lorenz, was a German painter specialized in paintings of animals typically hunted as a game. His highly detailed oil paintings evoke the texture and movement of animals like boars, foxes, buffalos, and lions, depicted in their natural habitats and attitudes. His artworks resemble the works by Max Josef Hänger Lorenz. Willi Lorenz attended the Düsseldorf Academy of Art before moving to Cologne to start his artistic career.
