Written by Umberto Boccioni (Reggio Calabria, 1882– Chievo, 1916), italian painter and sculptor representative of the italian Futurist movement. In this manifesto, he states the ideas and the rules to be followed by the futurist aesthetic, in contrast with the previous old artistic trend. As all the futurist manifestos, it can be considered as a fundamental piece of italian literature in general, as well as one of the most important programmatic document of the Futurist movement.
