Boccioni was a prominent figure in the forefront of the Futurist movement in Italy.
Boccioni enthusiastically adhered to the newly born futurist movement and became one of the most active and influential cultural agitators. Together with other artists, he drew up the Manifesto of the Futurist Painters. In 1910, the purely futurist painting phase started to develop, the central dilemma is the decomposition of the natural forms in a continuous search for dynamic, syncopated, vorticular compositional nuclei or cores that are not foreign to the Cubist experience. The last phase of Boccioni’s career saw a return to the Cezannian tradition, which recreated more orderly and concrete environments that are nevertheless highlighted by aggressive and unsettling colors.
