The artwork represents the interior scenery while two women have a conversation beside a standing man, the artwork characterized by precise and delicate strokes with perfect applying of chiaroscuro. The artist's efforts indicate the perfect applying of aesthetic features. Ricardo de los Ríos (Valladolid, 1846-Madrid, 1929) was a Spanish painter, illustrator and printmaker. He succeeded José María Galván as Professor of Engraving at the Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid. Dedicated primarily to etching, he was a notable reproductive engraver, as well as the author of original prints, preferably landscapes, portraits, and genre scenes. Some of his original works were published in L'Eau-forte
