Fresh colored work on paper depicting a a delicate bouquet of purple flowers. The composition is very simple and elegant and the contrast between the purple and the green is very beautiful.

This work has been realized by the artist Ennio Morlotti (1910 – 1992). In 1937, he stayed for a short time in Paris, where he came into contact with the great protagonists of European art, from Cézanne to Fauvism and expressionism of Soutine and Rouault. He knew Picasso's work, Guernica, and he was impressed. On his return to Italy he moved to Milan and enrolled at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. In 1939, he joined the group of Corrente painters with Ernesto Treccani, Renato Guttuso, Renato Birolli and Bruno Cassinari. After a second stay in Paris in 1947, he participated at the New Front of the Arts, and, after the split, joined with Birolli and Cassinari in the Group of Eight by Lionello Venturi. In 1955, he won a purchase prize at the third edition of the Spoleto Prize. The most important subjects of the artist are landscapes, still lifes and figure studies.
