This artwork is from the series "Cirque du Soleil" that the Italian artist Sergio Barletta dedicated to Canadian entertainment company. The protagonist is a female figure making a stunt. The famous "Cirque du Soleil" series of Barletta includes acrobats, dancers and jugglers represented in a surrealistic way. The composition is bustling and fantastic and suggests a great sense of joy.
This work has been realized by the Italian artist Sergio Barletta (Bologna, 1934). He actually lives in Viterbo, Italy.
Active in Rome from the age of 22, he began an activity as illustrator and art director for advertising studios and magazines such as Costume, Diners ClubHouse Organ, BP Review, IBM, and others.
In 1965 he began a series of work with the Marino gallery in Rome, and in Milan, from 1966, with the humour graphic group.He published several books on political satire, not least collaborations with Linus and Hara Kiri. He has traveled, also as a photographer, to India, Japan, Malaysia, Madagascar, Singapore, Egypt, Turkey.
