This work has been realized by the Czech artist Michel Fingesten (1884 - 1943). Fingesten was a Czech Jewish painter and engraver. He is considered one of the greatest ex libris artists of the art history. At the age of 16, he studied at the Wien Academy, together with Oskar Kokoschka. From 1902 to 1906, he went to America, and then to Australia, In 1907, he arrived in Palermo. He then returned to Munich in Franz von Stuck's studio, practicing caricature and small format graphics. Then he moved to Berlin. He came back to Italy in 1935 to visit his maternal relatives from Trieste and remained there due to the racial persecution. In this period it affects about 500 exlibris
