This is a color lithograph on wove paper, properly edited by the French magazine XXe Siécle , and published on the Panorama 74 - Le Surréalisme II , number issue XLIII , Paris, in 1974. Edited under the direction of the Italian art editor Gualtieri di San Lazzaro, the founder of the review, and printed by Fernand Mourlot, Paris, 1974.
The Lithograph:
Artistic printing is a technique with which artworks could be multiplied through the use of engraved matrices and could become very popular. There is a large variety of engraving techniques defined by the matrix material. Today the engraving techniques have not changed at all once their strict function of "image multipliers" has slowly disappeared because of the advent of photography.
XXe Siécle:
A wonderful French art magazine, the XXe siècle was founded by Gualtieri di San Lazzaro, pseudonym of Giuseppe Antonio Leandro Papa (1904-1974), writer and Italian art editor.

Good conditions.
Wifredo Lam is don't only Cuba's greatest artist, bust also the first black artist in historiography. He was a member of the "Negro" movement. Lam's style is the result of his usual travels: primitive graffiti with clear cubist influences in a surrealsit atmosphere.
By now an internationally renowed artist, Lam tried to combine Paris with Cuba, his country of origin, where he closely followed political events.
Today some of the artist's works belong to the collections of the Tate Gallery in London, others to the Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid, still others to the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Gallery of Art in Washington.
