George Henri Tribout (Paris, 1884-1962).
The French modern artist begins his artistic career attending the Universite de Notre Dame in Boulogne and the Academie Julian in 1904-1905. At the beginning he embraced the Cubist style and exhibited at the Salon des Independants in 1909, here he exhibited a portrait of Emile Verhauey, one of his friends among Ensor, Montald, and Stephen Zweig. After the First World War he begins to paint landscapes and portraits and exhibited at the Galerie Alligons in Paris, here his artworks are permanently displayed still today. Tribout experimented the art of ceramic too, and was included in expositions at L’Exposition des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in 1925, in addition of the posters, costumes theatrical sets designs.
