Guglielmo Ianni (Rome 1892 - 1958): After training in the legal field to follow his father's will, Ianni began to devote himself full time to his passion for painting at the end of the 1910s. He frequents the studio of the Roman painter Bargellini and practices a naturalistic painting, at the same time he cultivates his philosophical and literary interests. In the thirties he approaches the Roman School, attends Mafai, Cagli, Fazzini, and creates works of a moderate tonalism in which the lyrical element is strong, he prefers simple subjects, still lifes and small landscapes. Despite the opposition to the regime, he does not renounce to exhibit in institutional events, such as the Rome Quadriennale of 1935 and the Venice Biennale of 1936. In the mid-thirties the poet Libero De Libero organizes two personal exhibitions for him at the Galleria La Cometa in Rome . In 1937 he abandoned painting to devote himself to studies on his ancestor Giuseppe Gioacchino Belli. He died in 1958.
