Plate 476 from La Caricature n°229. HD acronym written by hand in pencil at bottom right.

Included a wooden frame.

This lithograph is Representing, two devilish characters kneed on the ground in the state of praying, one of them has horns in his head, beside him there is a cat on some paper, and left man is holy man, between them there is the Christian cross statute.

He is a master of making caricatures, this original piece shows perfectly his manner of art and how strongly with each of his lines and shapes he creates a masterpiece. 

Honoré Daumier ( 1808-1879) is a French printmaker, caricaturist, painter and sculptor, whose many works offer commentary on social and political life in France in the 19th century.

Daumier is famous for his satirical commentary on social and political life predominantly through his lithographs of which he produced and he is best known for his caricatures of political figures.

Daumier’s works are found in many of the world’s leading art museums, including the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Rijksmuseum.
