Piero Dorazio (1927-2005) was an Italian painter. In parallel with his artistic practice, he conducted an intense theoretical and organizational activity in favor of non-figurative art. His research focused on the painterly properties of form, color, space, and materials, highlighting the value of the “line-light-color”. From 1960 to 1970, Dorazio taught at the University of Pennsylvania. He won prizes at the Venice and Paris Biennials and the Kandinsky Prize.
