Carlo De Carli (Milan, 1910 - Milan, 1999) was an Italian architect, designer, essayist and academic, one of the protagonists of modern architecture, industrial design, and their teaching. His line of thought is concretized in the architecture created from the
postwar period to the early seventies. His first important building dates back to 1947-1949, the House for offices and homes in via dei Giardini 7 in Milan, in the basement of which he will build the Sant'Erasmo Theater after a few years (1951-53) with the
collaboration of the architect Antonio Carminati. The other most significant works are the "Milano village" in La Caletta di Siniscola, Nuoro (1948-51); the Foresteria delle Mine of Monteponi, South Sardinia (1950-52); the school and welfare complex of the Opera
Don Calabria in Cimiano, Milan (professional workshops, middle school, pension for the elderly, Church of San Gerolamo Emiliani) (1952-1965); the Home for the Elderly in Negrar, Verona (1955-62); the Church of Sant'Ildefonso (1955-56) in Milan.
