Franco Gentilini  (Faenza, 1909 - Rome, 1981) was a famous Italian painter. He started working as an apprentice in a woodcarver shop. In 1932, he moved to Rome where he met artists and writers of  Caffè Aragnoìs  (Cagli, Mucci, Falqui, Sinisgalli, de Libero), starting long collaborations with them in the illustration of their texts and poems. The themes of his artworks are cathedrals, baptisteries, jugglers and itinerant players, landscapes with irregular perspectives, women characterized by ankle boots with spool heels, bicycles, trucks, cats and lions.
