View of the Forum Romanum is an Excellent Modern Artwork realized in the Second half of the XIX Century in Italy by the Neapolitan painter Giuseppe Costantini (Nola, 1843 - Neaples, 1893). His painting represents in the typicality of genre scenes the custom of Neapolitan life and the everyday life of the people in the dusty interiors of the houses where he places children and old people in an exact reproduction of furniture, furnishings and objects of everyday life.
Giuseppe Costantini was the son of Don Giovanni, surgeon at the Military Hospital of Nola (originally from San Paolo Belsito), and Donna Carmela, of the wealthy family of Beard Nola. Giuseppe was the fourth of five brothers. After first studying at the Seminary of Nola, he went to the Art Institute in Naples and attended the Academy of BB. AA. at Naples between 1865 and 1866. After his academic studies, he became friends with the painters of the School of Posillipo, but returned to Nola around 1870 to take over the directorship of the School of Design & Applied Arts, where he remained until 1893, year of the death.
