This artwork is from  Rimini Blue series. Cast in white clay. Decoration engraved by hand with various patterns stencilled on raw clay, under glossy blue crystalline glaze.

Good conditions.

The Rimini Blu ceramic collection was born in the early 1950s from an idea by Aldo Londi, Artistic Director of the Bitossi Ceramiche company at the time. It consists of simple but suggestive objects, immediately recognizable thanks to the particular color that gives impulse and identity to the famous series. Vases, jugs, bowls, animals and many other subjects designed to decorate the house, all wear a precise combination of enamel that links layers of blue and turquoise with different shades. The surface of the ceramic, with its rough appearance, is engraved with small geometric friezes that chase and intersect as in the texture of a fabric. The carvings of the decoration mix with cobalt, emerald green and aquamarine blue nuances, reminiscent of the games of the sun reflected in the sea.
