Antonio Recalcati  (Bresso, 1938) is an Italian painter. He debuted as an artist in 1957 with a solo show at the Galleria Totti in Milan. After a journey in the United States, where he learned about pop painting, he focused on the theme of the landscape. From the mid-70s, he also dedicated himself to theatrical scenography. In 1976, the Pompidou Center in Paris organized a retrospective on him, followed in 1987 by a large anthological exhibition in Milan, at the Palazzo Reale. In the 90s, he mostly dealt with the theme of death.
