The Flowering Daigo is an original artwork realized in 1885 by Toyohara Chikanobu (1838–1912).

Limited edition xilograph signed on plate.

From the series "Setsu gekka", (Snow, Moon and Flower), the sheet "Yamashiro Daigo no hana, Kampaku Hideyoshi Yodogimi" (Yamashiro Province, the Flowering Daigo, the Regent Hideyoshi and his Mistress). Hiseyoshi is sitting in the garden of Daigoji Temple under a blossoming cherry tree drinking sake, his mistress is standing behind him.

Signed: Yoshu Chikanobu hitsu.

Excellent impression with blind embossing, colour gradation and black glossy print, margins a little bit yellowed and minimally soiled, upper corners glued.
