Michel Ciry (1919-2018) was a French painter, engraver, writer, and composer. A student at the Duperré School of Applied Arts in Paris from 1934 to 1937, Michel Ciry engraved his first copper in 1935 and started at the exhibition "Artistes de ce Temps" at the Petit Palais in 1938. In addition to his personal engraved work, he produced numerous illustrations for bibliophile editions. He created with his friends the international Michel-Ciry engraving prize, which rewards professional and amateur talented engravers.
