The Chef   is an original ink watercolored drawing on paper realized by  Jean-Jacques Grandville .

A wonderful satiric illustration from the volume ' Scènes de la vie privée et publique des animaux ', published by Garner frères in 1869, Paris.

Hand-signed  in black ink on the lower margin at the center.

Excellent conditions, except for an imperceptible water stain on the lower left margin and some unavoidable little signs of time on the edges. This modern artwork representing a dog-chef offering a succulent chicken thigh is not affected by these little defects and includes a passpartout (48 x 33 cm).
