Hand-signed  in pencil by the artist on the lower right margin and  numbered  in pencil on the lower left margin.  From an edition of 100 prints .

In excellent conditions, the sinuous and synthetic line that delineates the nude is exalted by the lemon yellow background. A white cardboard passepartout is included, cm 34 x 49.

Domenico Cantatore (Ruvo di Puglia, 1906 - Paris, 1998)

He moved to Milan in 1924, joined the Corrente art group, and in 1929 held his First Personal Exhibition at the Galleria Milano. In 1932, he moved to Paris, he learned about Impressionist painting and the art of Picasso and the Fauves. He dedicated to engrave with the drypoint technique and in 1934 he exhibited his works at the Galleria il Milione. In the following years, he took part in the Venice Biennial, the Bergamo Award and the Rome Quadrennial. In 1950, he obtained the chair of Painting, at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Brera.

The first period of his artistic production, up to 1948, deals with subjects of an intimate nature, influenced by the French tradition, and later realizes works related to realism and expressionism, with social accents. Famous is the series of Odalisques, but also the landscapes and the figures of poor people of south Italy.
