Giuseppe Tampieri  (Lugo, 1918 – Faenza, 2014), since his childhood in Faenza, has showed a passion for art and thus attended the "T. Minardi" drawing school. He completed his artistic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence where, in 1941, he obtained the teaching qualification. He exhibited his works for the first time at the Trade Union Exhibition of Ravenna in 1936. Since then, he has participated in the most important national art exhibitions, including the Venice Biennial and the Roman Quadrennial. Tampieri has illustrated books and published writings on art in many newspapers and magazines. Member of various artistic and cultural institutions, he has been an Academician of Merit of the Ligustica Academy of Fine Arts of Genoa since 1987. After moving to Genoa in 1950, he stayed there until 1982. He currently lives and works in Faenza (RA). His works are found in numerous public and private collections in Italy and abroad.
