Very good conditions.

It is a precious saddle made of mixed woven with golden and silver threads. Around the main tissue in purple velvet, there is a frame made of golden and silver threads embellished with small pearls and golden paillettes. Inside the gold frame, plant and phytomorphic motifs were created. The saddle was made in the mid-nineteenth century and is entirely hand-embroidered. It belonged to the Ethiopian Ras Destà Damtù (dead in Buttagera, southern Scioa in 1937); he was the head of the Sidamo and Borana province. Commander of the army operating on the southern front in the Italo-Ethiopian war (1935-36), after the defeat the guerrilla war continued for nine months, the last of the Ethiopian leaders, until he was overwhelmed and killed.
