This beautiful engraving belongs to a portfolio published in 1823 called Nuova Raccolta di Cinquanta Costumi De’ Contorni di Roma compresi diversi fatti di briganti , one of the richest and most beautiful collections of engravings by Bartolomeo Pinelli . He was an important Roman artist, engraver, painter, and ceramist, famous for producing drawings and prints about the history and customs of Rome and the region Lazio, fundamental for the ethnographic knowledge of that territory.

The artwork is amusing and pleasant, representing a moment in the way of life in the surroundings of 19 th -century Rome, and in particular the milking of a goat.
