The artwork has been realized by the French artist, painter and lithograph Théodore Valério (Hérserange, 1819 - Vichy, 1879). He was a pupil and a friend of Nicolas-Toussaint Charlet; with him, he travelled along Germany and Italy. The artist exhibited for the first time in 1838, at the Salon. He realized several watercolors and drawings about the traditional costumes of the lands he visited and the people he met. When he came back to France, he exhibited at the Universal Exposition of Paris and, at the end of his life, he moved to Bretagne, a region who inspired him.
