René Vincent (1879–1936)
The French illustrator, active in the 1920s-1930s, worked according to the Art Deco style and canons, and became famous for his poster designs. After having studied at the Ècole des Beaux-Arts, he became the illustrator for La Vie Parisienne , The Saturday Evening Post , L'Illustration and Fantiso .
He created advertisements for Bugatti , Peugeot , Michelin , and Shell Oil Company. His most recognizable work is the 1925 Porto Ramos Pinto poster. Occasionally, he went by the pseudonym Rageot . Vincent was a great lover of cars, as a result he was one of the first French citizens to have a driver's license and was also one of the first Parisians to have a garage built into his house.
