Fresh and colored impression representing three human figures in the center of the composition. The artwork represents the three brothers of the Swiss confederation.
The artwork was realized by the Italian artist Gallo Gallina (Cremona, 1796 - Milan, 1874). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera and was active as painter of oil and fresco paintings. His most important activity was illustrations. His first famous illustration drew inspiration from the Promessi Sposi by Alessandro Manzoni. His favorite subjects were historical characters of the XVI and the XVII centuries.
