Small part of cover missing on upper edge, binding a little weakened, otherwise perfect conditions. Louis Aragon was born in 1897 and died in 1982. He was a French poet and writer,long-time member of the Communist Party and one of the leading voices of the Surrealist movement, founded by André Breton. He was member of the famous Académie Goncourt and encouraged literature in France.
