La vache blanche   is a beautiful artwork realized by  Constant Toyon  in the middle of XIX century.

In Good condition. Worn paper and some stains on the back. on the lower margin the title of the artwork. On the right-lower margin “ CH. Pinet.  sculp.”,  and in left-lower “ Troyon pinx”.  The sheet is mounted on a cardboard passepartout (35 x 49 cm). 

Constant Troyon  (1810 -1865) was a French painter of the Barbizon school.  In the early part of his career he painted mostly landscapes. It was only comparatively late in life that Troyon found his  métier  as a painter of animals, and achieved international recognition.
