Matteo Basilè (Rome, 1974). His career begins in the early 90s as one of Europe’s first artists merging art and technology. Basilé owns the extraordinary capacity to conciliate opposing ideas like beauty and grotesque, natural and artificial. He has exhibited in major museums and galleries in Italy, Europe and China. He is considered one of the most important exponents of digital art. For ten years, in his art, he has mixed digital culture with classical iconography, re-inventing the idea of portraiture. The artist uses digital photography to develop and expand his personal painting.
