Beautiful and precious work of art realized in Italy in the end of the XIX century and representing a female nude follower of Bacchus holding grapes. This figures, in ancient mythology, wear animal skins, with the thyrsus in their hands, they ran dancing wildly in the mountains accompanied by the roar of cymbals, flutes and other instruments. At the end of the exaltation, coinciding with ecstasy, they ravaged and devoured the sacred animal (usually a deer), to take possession of the divinity itself. In this representation, we see the follower of Bacchus while drinking the nectar of the grapes, simbolically wine. She is wearing a very light dress and her head is crowned by a grapes branch. The sculpture is a beautiful example of bronze casting: it is totally realized in bright bronze.
