Original title: Jeudi Gras , printed on plate on the upper margin in the center. On the lower center, on plate, there is the caption: Bal masqué de la Renaissance.
Includes passepartout: 28.5 x 38.4 cm. Quite good conditions, except for foxings and little tears on the lower right margin.

The artwork represents a typical Carnival party set in a luxurious dance hall during Fat Thursday , the traditional Christian feast marking the last Thursday before Lent, associated with the celebration of the Carnival.
Ernest Florian (Chez-le-Bart, 1863 - Paris, 1914) was the pupil of his brother Frederic Florian. He was awarded an honourable mention in 1890 and a silver medal at the Exposition Universelle of 1900.
