Bruno Caruso (Palermo, 1927 - Rome, 2018) was an Italian painter, draftsman, engraver, writer. His artworks are focused on the moral, political and ethical flaws of the 20th Century. His attention has always focused on the ethical and civil aspects of man, from the hottest themes of his native land (Sicily) to the most global ones, such as war, mental hospitals, nature. Interested in the world of publishing, journalism and photography, over the course of his life he has collaborated with various Italian newspapers to found himself intellectual magazines, such as "Sicilia" in 1953.

Bruno Caruso (Palermo, 1927 - Rome, 2018) was an Italian painter, draftsman, engraver, writer. His artworks are focused on the moral, political and ethical flaws of the 20th Century. His attention has always focused on the ethical and civil aspects of man, from the hottest themes of his native land (Sicily) to the most global ones, such as war, mental hospitals, nature. Interested in the world of publishing, journalism and photography, over the course of his life he has collaborated with various Italian newspapers to found himself intellectual magazines, such as "Sicilia" in 1953. His active participation in the magazine has been famous since the 1960s Time. He has known and collaborated with famous artists at national and international level, from Leonardo Sciascia to photographer Brassaï, his dear friends. Numerous awards have been received over the years in Italy and abroad: in 2001 he received the gold culture medal from the President of the Republic and the following year the Archimede Award for the most illustrious Sicilians in the world. The University of Palermo awarded him an honorary degree in Literature and Philosophy in 1986.
