Castle
Castle is an interesting drawing in pencil realized by an artist that signed in an unreadable way on the lower left of the paper. This is probably a sketch for a subsequent painting. The represented architecture, a castle on a cliff, indeed, is a mere draft but presents some inscriptions referring to the type of hues to be used in the real painting. The inscriptions are notes in French, barely readable. The state of preservation is good, except for a dark stain on the higher left and a fold on the lower left part of the paper.
The draft is pleasant for the freshness and spontaneity of the strokes, drawn from reality, made by an artist that was certainly expert in painting.
