Lillo Bartoloni has always loved traveling. In 1971, he lived in Paris where he came into contact with artists of the post-1960s international avant-garde. In Paris, he held his first solo show in a gallery. The artist combines and recombines themes in a very recognizable way from real, literary, or cinematographic worlds with which he comes into contact.
His travels inspired a long period in which he painted deserts and camels, a series entitled "Room with a View". The sea of the beloved Gaeta with the Bourbon castle and the suspended boats piloted by strange characters was a favorite theme.
