Antique Neapolitan Crown

This  Antique Neapolitan Crown is an original decorative object realized in Neaples in the first decades of the XVIII Century. 

Original silver-plate, golden-plate and precious stones. 

Hand-made in Italy.

Very good conditions.

Precious and very refined object made in the Eighteenth Century by a Neapolitan manufacture of the Baroque period that includes ninety precious and non-precious stones in 18 kt gold. Among the Ninety stones we find:

-23 Colombian Emeralds for a total of about Kt 45
-16 Sapphires for a total of 35 Kt
-3 Rubies for a total of 11 Kt
-8 Yellow Sapphires for a total of 25 kt
-1 Harlequin Opal of about 6 kt
-8 cultured Pearls with a diameter of 8mm
-Amethysts, Garnets and Imperial Topazes.

Very refined and handcrafted work entirely hand-made; on the top of the Crown there is a Greek cross above a globe. The crown is studded with precious stones (among them we find opals, quartz of various colors and amethysts) and a row of white pearls in the central part. The work is certainly part of an ex-voto ; they consist in precious objects, jewels and fine art works placed above the sculptures of the Virgin Mary inside the churches. An ex-voto  can be given as a gift to the divinity; it is the symbol of a commitment that the believer assumes towards the divinity provided that the same fulfills its requests. Important collections also rich in small paintings, remarkable testimonies of religiosity and popular art, can be found in many shrines dedicated to the Virgin Mary.
