Vintage Floor Lamp

A rare and striking illuminated floor lamp crafted in Italy during the 1970s, conceived as a hybrid between a light sculpture and a display case. Its clean geometry and luxurious materials exemplify the refined experimentation that characterized Italian decorative design of the decade.

The lamp is composed of a square base in beautifully figured burl wood, featuring warm tones and distinctive swirling grain patterns. The top edge is finished with a brushed metal frame, which also outlines the four vertical sides made of clear glass. The result is a transparent architectural volume that seems to float above its luminous plinth.

Inside the wooden base, a diffused internal light source projects an even glow upward, illuminating the entire glass enclosure. When lit, the lamp becomes a serene and atmospheric light column—ideal for creating a sculptural focal point in any room.
