Heinrich Zille (Radeburg, 10 January 1858 - Berlin, 9 August 1929) in 1908. He was a popular German illustrator and photographer known for his satirical and humorous drawings of working-class Berlin citizens. Born on January 10, 1858 in Radeburg, Germany, in 1887 his family moved to Berlin where he began an apprenticeship as a lithographer. When he lost his job in 1910, the well-known German Impressionist painter Max Liebermann encouraged Zille to make a living from his drawings alone, which he had already been publishing in Simplicissimus, Berlin’s satirical weekly newspaper. His fame peaked towards the end of his life in the 1920s.
