This lithograph is Representing, a gloomy greed fat man, with hatred look and anger, standing in the winter coat with clumsy hair, could be one of his expression to demonstrate the greed of authorities and politician,

He is a master of making caricature, this original piece shows perfectly his manner of art and how strongly with each of his lines and shapes he creates a masterpiece. 

The manner of hunting for the elevation of the recently invented printmaking medium of lithography to the level of serious art.  Daumier’s prints of individual “celebrities” are the best evidence of his mastery as well as his knowledge about historical approaches to formal portraiture.

Honoré Daumier ( 1808-1879) is a French printmaker, caricaturist, painter and sculptor, whose many works offer commentary on social and political life in France in the 19th century.

Daumier is famous for his satirical commentary on social and political life predominantly through his lithographs of which he produced and he is best known for his caricatures of political figures.

Daumier’s works are found in many of the world’s leading art museums, including the Louvre, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Rijksmuseum.
